Techno couple, Camea and Tim Xavier give us a peek at their upcoming sensual, bass thumping collaboration with the release of their Velvet On Canvas EP. The EP starts off with the Velvet edit of “You Control Myself.” The track is a playful, flirtatious bit of tech house guided by a funk consumed kick. Sedate pads pitch up and down teasingly.

Velvet then twists suggestively into sweetly dark territories with the peak sounding “Beaded Sweat”. Dubby stabs of synth race out of pitching filters as crisp snares and hiatus keep things chugging along with the kicks. The track plays like multiple waves flowing in and rushing out at different intervals and yet building on one another until they all crescendo after a satisfying cycle of bars.

“Three Days in Bed,” holds nothing back. Its deep kick hits hard/soft sweet spots as it slinks into the juicy caress of the track’s voluptuous bass. The track nearly tears at itself, moving satisfyingly at just the right clip. A droning synth in the background counterpoints the pounding like a contrasting soothing hand while sexy stabs of sampled voice push the track into that magic territory between finesse driven restraint and bedlam fueled passions.

The EP closes with another remix of The Take Me There. The track races in with vehicle sounding pads and roughly textured whooshes that doppler in like careening supercars hugging luscious curves. A thunderous line of kicks, percussive high pitched synths, and whirling, whip like snares are unleashed as the track accelerates. Roughly filtered words echo slightly, describing loss of control in the face of even the small things a lover says or does.
