Israeli designer Lia Kes’ interest in fashion started when she was just a child. Growing up in Kibbutz Afikim, Kes was tired of wearing the same uniform as her childhood peers. At the age of six, Kes told her mother she wanted to be unique and by the age of twelve Kes harnessed her creativity and started sewing her own wardrobe. Creating beautiful clothing through adolescence, Lia Kes enrolled in the prestigious Shenkar College in Tel Aviv, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.

German mens fashion line SOPOPULAR recently unveiled their spring 2010 collection, along with premiering their line, they were also awarded Premium’s Young Designers Award in Menswear. The line was not revealed in its entirety, it is composed of twenty-six different garments but we were limited to the garments in their preview. The preview of their collection has been impressive to say the least, following their “Made in Germany” mantra, the line is constructed by using simplicity combined with unusual straps and cuts. Designer Maison Martin Margiela fused together elegance and minimalism with his Men’s Spring 2010 line. Fashion week has been full of refreshing patterns and abnormal use of fabrics, Margiela stuck to traditional design by letting the cuts and designer specifications speak for the line. Margiela didn’t use any loud colors or abnormal garment settings to set the tone for this collection. We can expect a very fashion forward 2010 from Maison Martin Margiela. Junya Watanabe unveiled his classic collection during Paris Fashion Week – the line is full of clean patterns and fitted trench coats. Designed by Dai Fujiwara the newest collection is Turkish-inpired with a selection of pieces that range from mosaic tile pattern suits to colorful flower pattern shirts.
