Alison Jacques Gallery based in London, UK has just announced Ryan McGinley’s first solo show in the United Kingdom. The highly anticipated show will feature 24 different works by McGinley that have never been seen by the public. McGinley’s photos for this gallery have been themed according to his travels during the past year. With him and his friends exploring caves and other unoccupied territory, McGinley focused his lens to capture these very abstract settings. “The title of the show “Moonmilk” alludes to the crystalline deposits found on the walls of many caves; it was once believed that this substance was formed by light from celestial bodies passing through rock into darkened worlds below.” The show is scheduled to open on September 10th at 6 PM and a book containing all the works published by Morel books will be released to coincide with the opening.
