Visual artist Ali Demirel has created a great video of two songs at Richie Hawtin’s recent set in Manchester. His shots include both a variety of camera angles from the DJ booth and also of the interior of The Warehouse Project where Hawtin spun. He warps and filters the images to match the experience of the set inside the smoky and sweaty warehouse at 5:50 am. The video covers the songs “Pullpush” by Gaiser and Plastikman’s “Spastik” and really captures the intensity of the DJ’s mind-bending sets. Check out the video to see for yourself.

The two day festival will take place in Torino, Italy and will feature some of the best acts in Techno music. The line up will feature Cadenza label boss Luciano and Minus head Richie Hawtin. Other DJ’s include old school Techno pioneer Derrick May, Gradient favorite Hugo, Michel Cleis, Ricardo Villalobos and many more. If you happen to be in Europe during this time make sure you dedicate some time to checking out this amazing festival.

Now that Electric Zoo has completely wrapped up, we were given sometime to go through the amazing footage and photographs we took during the festival. Our highlight of the event, was the DJ set by Minus’ label boss Richie Hawtin. The highly anticipated arrival of Richie Hawtin was well received once the legendary techno DJ put on his first track. The Sunday School Hilltop Tent was completely packed with over 3000 people flooding the tent to experience the sound of a musical genius. Richie Hawtin has maintained a very strong following during the past 15 years, but it wasn’t till the minimal craze fully kicked in that Hawtin was able to dominate electronic music with one of the most innovative sounds currently being offered in the genre. He has headlined festivals all over the world, playing for thousands of people at a time. It was very pleasant to see how well received his music was at an American festival. Check out this little clip of what you missed and a few photos after the event. If you want to listen to some of the tracks that Hawtin played visit his twitter page which streams his tracklisting live.
