Berghain’s resident DJ Marcel Dettmann is regarded today as one of the most interesting acts coming out of Germany. His sound is very similar to the music being played during the rave days with an extra intensifying experience. Techno website Little White Earbuds sat down with Dettmann right before his DJ set at Brooklyns underground Bunker party. He talked about some of his original inspirations that allowed him to delve into electronic music, and what drives his musical inspirations. “Techno for me… I mean, I live techno. I live it all the time. I love it. Techno for me is like a 24-hour job. When I wake up, I think about music; when I go to sleep, I think about music. I think about it all the time. My wife is really jealous! (Laughs) But that’s my life.” Check out the rest of the interview here.
