Environmental conservation has became a major focus for countries all over the world, Europe has made significant efforts in contributing to new focus aimed at climate control. A great example of some of these key efforts is Monovolume’s latest production located in Winnebach, Italy. The Hydroelectric Power Station was designed by architects Patrik Pedó and Juri Pobitzer who have been working together since their architecture study at the University of Innsbruck began. The architects had this to say about their production “The station is conceived as an artificial rock quarried out of the slope. This sensation is underlined by a very reduced use of materials (concrete, glass and steel) in their rougher form, as well as by the “veins” which cross the volume. These “veins” consist of light bands of layered glass and run around the building. At some specific points of those light bands a normal single glass delivers insight to the power station’s bowels.”
