Gradient Magazine was first exposed to Hugo with his recent performance at BlkMarket Membership’s event in Greenpoint, Brooklyn earlier this month. Hugo is known for a very progressive tech house sound that consists of non stop bass anthems, and live mixing techniques that he continues to utilize throughout his sets. Last night on August 1st we were privileged to experience one of the best techno music events in NYC this summer. Put together by the very persistent bright minds behind Blkmarket membership Fahad and Taimur, the event was an absolute hit. With over 800+ people in attendance, the promoters incorporated a very nostalgic rave days setting with an upgraded twist. The night was opened up by Leks The Imposter who played a very soft and groovy set. Taking over the decks after him were Fahad & Taimur who put everyone into the mood by playing Gradient’s favorite track Nôze – You Have To Dance (Mathias Kaden Beatpolka Remix). After the duo closed up their set, Italian DJ Hugo didnt waste time getting right into his act by playing some real techno bangers. Cadenza producer Reboot got on the decks around 5:30 am and really took over the crowd. The Greenpoint, Brooklyn warehouse was still packed with people dancing to the beat into the early morning.
