Painter Terry Rodgers’ has a show coming up in Brussels called “Radical Continuity.” Starting January 14th at Aeroplastics Contemporary, the exhibition is a collection of his large-scale works that revolve around themes of excess, luxury, and sexuality. The claustrophobic compositions feature nude figures that look as if they were collaged together from a mixture of porn and advertising for Las Vegas. He adds in details like Venus sculptures and Classical interior architecture that look back to the Baroque period and Renaissance, perhaps speaking to the highly sexualized nude as the muse of contemporary culture.
