Blackberry has unveiled their latest gem the 8520. This pale white phone will make a fashion statement we have all been looking for, stand out from a mile away and let people know that you got a Blackberry! This phone will be made available under the two major carriers AT&T and T-Mobile. The specifications are not much different than the phones currently available by Blackberry such as the Tour & Bold. Regardless, if you are looking to great creative with your accessories this would be a nice addition!
Kempler & Strauss have launched the GSM Quad-band 3G Billionair 6, a new smartphone that runs on Windows Mobile. Features include a 624MHz ARM processor, a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT touchscreen display with a 240×320 pixels resolution, an integrated accelerometer that automatically flips the display orientation when you turn it, a 3 MP camera, built-in GPS, 802.11g WiFi connectivity, and a microSD card slot for up to 4GB of memory. It also comes with a backlit trackball and slidetouch interface, Microsoft Office Mobile, Bluetooth, and support for instant messaging and Skype. You can pick one up now for $260.
New pictures of the Onyx Blackberry 9700 have surfaced on the web. It will be T-Mobile’s first 3G Blackberry and is speculated to launch on November 11th. The touch-based track pad is a visible new feature, and the rumored specs include Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA, 480×360 resolution screen, OS 5.0, QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel AF camera, and Bluetooth technology.
Motorola DEXT/CLIQ Introduces MOTOBLUR User Interface
The Motorola DEXT (CLIQ in the US) will come preinstalled with Motorola’s personal interface – MOTOBLUR, which allows users to access all of his or her favorite social networks using a Motorola ID. The DEXT is one of the most affordable Android-based devices so far, coming in at 1 Euro with a contract, and 150 without. Featuring a 3.1 inch display, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, a five way joystick (instead of a trackball), a 5 MP camera with autofocus, GPS: Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, USB 2.0 support, 512 Mb of flash memory, 256 Mb of RAM and a microSD memory card slot onboard up to 32 Gb, 1 Gb of memory for user data, and the Google Android 1.1 operating system plus MOTOBLUR.
The great down under was invaded by a huge dust storm 310 mi wide by 620 mi long. The widespread storm covered Sydney on Wednesday, September 23rd, delaying flights and disrupting ground transportation. Sydney citizens remained indoors during the duration of the storm. Some parts of Sydney saw hailstorms. Some real amazing photos were taken during the storm. Check out some of the images after the post.
Little White Earbuds Sits Down With Marcel Dettmann
Berghain’s resident DJ Marcel Dettmann is regarded today as one of the most interesting acts coming out of Germany. His sound is very similar to the music being played during the rave days with an extra intensifying experience. Techno website Little White Earbuds sat down with Dettmann right before his DJ set at Brooklyns underground Bunker party. He talked about some of his original inspirations that allowed him to delve into electronic music, and what drives his musical inspirations. “Techno for me… I mean, I live techno. I live it all the time. I love it. Techno for me is like a 24-hour job. When I wake up, I think about music; when I go to sleep, I think about music. I think about it all the time. My wife is really jealous! (Laughs) But that’s my life.” Check out the rest of the interview here.
Montague has introduced the first ever 700c single speed foldable bike. The Boston 700c “is powered by a single-speed drivetrain that centers around a flip-flop hub. This special hub allows riders to change between a fixed-gear and free-wheel setup with little effort. The 42 x 16t drivetrain is low weight and perfectly geared for city riding.” This cool bike can be folded up in less than 20 seconds without any tools being required. Carl Craig & Derrick May talk about the records that influenced their careers in Techno music. Derrick May is considered to be one of the pioneers of the electronic music genre which has swept the world during the past twenty years. He makes several references to the resurgence and downfalls that Techno has be effected by since it’s inception.
