June is here and for the first month of nice summer weather you have many options of summer events. With so many in the works and tons being promoted you need to choose your battles. Sonar 2009 is one of the few festivals you would like to attend and see the large array of talent. From June 18-20th you will be able to experience live art, live music, and the amazing city of Barcelona. Last year Sonar introduced Richie Hawtin’s Minus Contakt show. This year they have endless amounts of talent that will range from Orbital, Grace Jones, Animal Collective, Fever Ray, Richie Hawtin, Crystal Castles, James Murphy & Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem disco set), Late of the Pier, Jeff Mills, Marcel Dettmann, Busy P., Ebony Bones, The Reactable and much more. Sonar will have 3 full days of excitement plus a few special after parties. Some of the after parties will include Minus’ beach party and the ovum records pre Sonar 2009 Jam just to list a few.

We love Space Ibiza comes back with another summer edition set of weekly Sunday events. Week number 2 June 21 2009 has a mixed line up that will feature Felix Da Housecat, Busy P & DJ Mehdi from Ed Banger records, and Hot Chip. These DJ and resident DJs will play in 6 rooms of amazing sound. Space Ibiza is known to have 24 hour parties. Since the new sound law was inplaced by local Island officials the party’s go from 4pm to 6am.
