On Friday the 23rd Blkmarket is bringing in Mr. C of Superfreq. A Londonite who started out as an MC, Mr. C got into the house scene in the late eighties. Founder of Plink Plonk Records, cofounder of End Recordings and owner of Superfreq Records, Mr. C has held a significant place in the Dance music industry. Joining him on the decks in the location yet to be announced is Garth (Grayhound Records), a San Francisco icon, along with Art Department (Crosstown Rebels) who will be playing live as well as a DJ set. Clear your daytime schedule and nick your calendars for Saturday, April 24th. To kick off the spring and honor the upcoming sunshine, Blkmarket and ReSolute present Monkey Mafia of the Wighnomy Brothers who will be playing an extended set alongside Federico Molinari (Oslo Records), Vera (Oslo Records), Maher Daniel (Souvenir Plus), and of course, Taimur & Fahad (Blkmarket). Here to represent ½ of the Wighnomy Brothers act, Sören Bodner aka Monkey Maffia of East Germany, will deliver an eclectic symphony of synth-heavy techno complemented by overtones of deep-house. You can expect Germany’s Federico Molinari to bring a fun, kick-snare based tech-house, often supplemented by excursions of rhythmic percussion. Often collaborating with Molinari, Vera of Heidelberg, Germany, has made a global mark as a DJ and producer on the electronic music scene, putting forward exquisite nuances that skate the line between deep house and techno. Canada’s Maher Daniel will come bearing an edgy, bass-heavy yet melodic style to Blkmarket, and with his youthful energy, he’ll undoubtedly kick the party off right with his opening set. A great event lies ahead, so be sure to catch it.

This past Saturday Blkmarket hosted a Mobilee records showcase featuring founder Anja Schneider along with signed artists Sebo K and Pan Pot. The first collaboration between Blkmarket and Mobilee records resulted in an amazing party doused in phenomenal music.

In the classical sense, a cadenza occurs when an orchestra stops playing in order to allow a soloist to freely express themselves. Lost is any sense of structured timing. It’s quite simply put, just them and the music. Blkmkt’s recent showcase of Cadenza recording artists was a prime example of how music is in many aspects, the freest form of expression in existence.

After recently taking the party above ground to NY’s club scene, Taimur and Fahad brought it back below sea level, setting up shop at an undisclosed location in Sunset Park. With sets by local Minimoo artist Memek and Cadenza maestros Serafin, Robert Dietz and Reboot, this event was a prime example of free form expression to the fullest.

BlkMarket Membership’s next event is Mobilee Showcase on April 3rd. The location is, per usual, a secret, but will be announced the day before the event and is somewhere in New York City. Last week our good friends over at Blkmarket Membership had a little affair in downtown’s club cave Love. The special night was kicked off by Blkmarket residents Taimuar & Fahad. As usual the duo touched the crowed. The collaboration between Dandy Jack & Sonja Moonear was absolutely amazing. Love’s amazing sound system had trouble supporting the bass thumping tracks these two were playing. Check out the images after the post.

It’s time for another secret location party from BLKmarket Membership with residents Taimur & Fahad. The Freakshow Costume Party will take place Saturday, February 27th at 10 pm until early the next morning. Headlining is Berlin based Konrad Black, who has been producing music and DJing for over ten years. His sound is fueled by dirty bass, evolving from his roots in drum’n’bass and hip hop.
