From November 5th – December 3rd, Carmichael Gallery in West Hollywood, California will be hosting Dark Doings, a solo exhibition of new works by Dan Witz. The show will feature some of the pieces from his summer street project that was inspired by his visit to the red light district in Amsterdam. The photos are of human and animal faces trapped behind dirty glass windows of doors and are presented either in frames or mounted to wood doors. Witz says, “I’m trying to exploit our collective tendency towards sleepwalking by inserting outrageous things right out there in plain view that are also practically invisible.” The opening to Dark Doings will be on Thursday, November 5th from 7-10 pm.
