This video installation was created by Apparati Effimeri, a collection of artists from Bologna. Called “Tetragram for Enlargement,” the video was made by precisely mapping out the surface of the castle and creating effects that project over it, like altering the texture or adding color. Many of the effects result from elongating and shortening shadows that change the perceived depth of the architectural features, but the most mesmerizing points are when the castle seems to break apart and reform brick by brick. It looks like this could be done on most buildings, so hopefully Apparati Effimeri will come out with some similar works. Definitely worth watching.
