Barcelona based American sculptor Frank Plant has been developing his steel works since 1993. He started them while living in Amsterdam and he has evolved his work by diversifying his materials and changing how he communicates with his viewers, while still maintaining his original concepts. His painted steel figures range in size but maintain the loose quality of contour drawings despite the rigid nature of the medium. Plant’s most recent show was in Berlin at the Kunsthaus Tacheles where he contributed work for the exhibit Personal Political, Contemporary Sensation in June.
