Posterchild has set up two new installations in New York City. “Andross” and “Abstract Crystallization” are paper creations taped over a video advertisement above the 23rd street subway station and a sliding advertisement on a bus stop. The light from the images behind it creates a glowing, shifting sensation that seems to give the static sculptures movement. Posterchild says his aim to find “a benevolent, sustainable way to involve myself in our shared public spaces without being arrested or unnoticeable.” He also adds, “I am simply connecting to my surroundings, and in this manner I also reclaim that which has been denied to me.”
