Canadian model Rick Genest, aka “Zombie Boy” or “Skeleton Boy”, has come a long way from his freak show circus days on the boundaries of Montreal. Who would have guessed that an early fascination with Bazooka Joe bubble gum temporary tattoos could help attain such fame and success? Genest’s undying interest for tattoos led him to transform his external skin into one large canvas. Famous for his unusual tattoos, a Facebook fan page was made in honor of ‘I bet this guy will regret this tattoo when he’s older!!’. Almost one year later the page had over 1.5 million members! His newfound fame and one-of-a-kind appearance quickly grabbed the attention of Nicola Formichetti, aka Lady GaGa’s fashion director, and put him on the path to immediate success. The images below feature Rick Genest modeling the new Thierry Mugler Autumn/Winter 2011 mens collection that appeared in a special spread for Vogue Hommes Japan (the magazine that Formichetti works as fashion director). Genest’s unique and highly detailed flesh canvas contrasts in a most magical way against the plain and simple fashion of the new Mugler line.
