Hotel Caldor in Münchendorf, Austria was completed by Söhne & Partner Architekten. Self Check In and the low building cost are the causes for moderate priced rooms, proving that affordable hotels do not need to sacrifice interesting and provocative design. The eye-catching feature of the building is the perforation of the façade, which loosely spells out the logo of the hotel. The top heavy structure does not look awkward, but instead seems to be hovering above the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that make up the lobby. The rooms may be small at only 10m2-14m2 but it’s definitely worth it over an Econolodge.
