Compiled by And.Id, the fourth volume of Mobilee‘s Back to Back series carries incredible tracks released from the label over the past year. Releases from veterans, like label head Anja Schneider, Marcin Czubala and Sebo K, showcase Mobilee’s continuing success in creating unique releases that span various temperaments of house and techno. The compilation also features recently signed artists Dan Curtin and Hector, whose tracks do their part in advancing Mobilee’s tradition of diverse output. While these tracks do much to show that techno and house is still vibrantly creative, disc 2 documents And.Id pushing those sounds into realms of Jazz.
Working with B.A.N.D, a group of Berklee College of Music and studio musicians, And.Id breaks down a number of signature tracks from Mobilee’s historic discography to their barest elements. He then lovingly arranges them atom by atom into sensual, swing infused instrumentals. Tracks such as Sebo K’s brilliantly deep tech house jaunt “Horizons“, Anja Schneider’s and Sebo K’s synthy funk excursion “Rancho Relaxo“, and the piano kissed warmth of Pan-Pot’s “Faces” lilt soothingly in their jazzy, rebuilt forms. Even the original tracks are included as an interesting, satisfying contrast to And.Id’s jazzed out workups. And if you still have room for dessert after all of this, an exclusive mix representing the live set And.Id is currently performing in clubs worldwide will be available for download with the purchase of this compilation.
Release of Back to Back Vol. 4 is slated for February 2010.
